About HytaleHome

How It Started

When Hytale went into early access, I did what most nerds probably did: I configured some Ansible playbooks to launch a dedicated server on a VPS so my family could play together without tying up a home computer.

But I wanted a name for the server they could actually remember, so instead of sharing the IP or the provider's serial-number-like domain name, I registered hytalehome.com and let them pick what to call our server.

Getting them connected went smoothly! And I figured other people running their own servers might find it useful.

What This Is

HytaleHome is a side project I'm building in my spare time. It's simple: you get a clean subdomain like yourserver.hytalehome.com that points to your existing Hytale server.

No complicated setup. No server management. Just a memorable address instead of an IP.

Who It's For

Fellow hobbyists. People who already have a Hytale server running on their home PC, a VPS, the spare laptop with the broken screen, or wherever, and just want a cleaner way to share the address.

If you're the kind of person who self-hosts things, you'll get it.
